COMMON APP

During this 2-day POD, you will finish with one final, polished personal statement. The POD experience is collaborative and highly interactive. We will brainstorm, discuss common and uncommon “do’s and dont’s”, walk through admission reader tips and strategies, and edit in real-time. You will learn from expert mentors, as well as your peers.

UC APP (4 ESSAYS)

During this 2-day POD, you will have near final drafts for the 4 required short answer (350 word) essays for the University of California Application. One of these essays is usually easily adapted to the common application personal statement (650 words). We will brainstorm, discuss common and uncommon “do’s and dont’s”, cover admission reader tips and strategies, and edit in real-time. You will learn from expert mentors, as well as your peers.

SUPPLEMENTAL ESSAYS

Most students have at least 2-3 supplemental long or short essays. Each Supplement POD tackles 2 short answer supplemental essays (250-500 words):

1. Diversity/what makes you unique and how will you contribute to X university?

2. Why this major— basically why do you want to study whatever you want to study?

   We will also discuss and give you the tools to tackle:

3. Why do you want to study X at this university? (this topic is very specific to each school)

ONE-ON-ONE EDITING

We brainstorm together, outline, create 1-2 rough draft(s), and complete 2-5 rounds of exhaustive editing.

Ultimately, we will produce 2-3 stellar, solid, and unique final drafts, polished and ready to send to your 10-12 colleges.
